Important Club Meeting
The club is holding a meeting at 8pm, Good Friday, April 14th, in Athleague Community Centre. The meeting is being held to elect a Chairperson and Development Officer for the club. All club members and parents are required to attend as important issues such as coaching of underage teams will be discussed.
Clothes Collection
Athleague Camogie Club will be holding a fundraising clothes collection in early June so hold out on throwing out your old clothes in order to help the club raise much needed funds.
County Teams
There were mixed fortunes for the county teams over the weekend. On Saturday the Minor team were beaten in the All Ireland C final versus Carlow. Hard luck especially to the club girls involved; Méadh Tiernan, Nora Brennan, Eitne Brennan, Lauren Flaherty, Rachel Neilan and Mary Fleming (Management).
On Sunday the Junior Team were victorious against Clare in a game that was played in Athleague. This now puts the girls into a League semi final in the coming weeks. Well done to all involved especially the club girls; Elaine Daly, Kelley Hopkins, Rachel Fitzmaurice, Laura Fleming, Méadh Tiernan, Chloe Whyte Lennon, Éala Ní Chumhaill and Rebecca Brennan.
Award for Athleague Player
Congratulations to club and county star, Rebecca Brennan who won the ‘AIT Freshers Camogie Player Of The Year’ Award. Rebecca received her award at the college sports ball last week. This is a huge honour and everyone at the club is very proud of Rebecca.
