Title holders Castlerea Celtic went top of the Premier Division of the Roscommon and District Football League following a 4 – 0 win over bottom side Brazukas at Castlerea.

They are now two points ahead of Moore United but their remaining two matches are away to title Challengers Moore and at home to Ballinasloe Town. Ronan Curran gave Castlerea Celtic a half time lead and Dominic and Nathan Bligh and Niall Higgins added one each after the break.

The Ballinasloe Town v Ballymoe FC game was postponed due to a bereavement at Ballinasloe.

Moore United beat Ahascragh United 6 – 0 at Ahascragh in the first round of the Premier Division Cup.

In Division 1 Champions Dysart suffered their first defeat in eighteen games when beaten 1 – 0 away to third placed Lough Harps. Adrian Cregg scored the decider after forty four minutes of play.

Runners up Cloonfad United beat Glen Celtic 8 – 0 at Cloonfad. Sean Kearney scored 3 and Stephen Cunningham, Ryan Merchant, Dylan Keadin, Sean Ruane and an own goal made up the total.

The Castleplunket side C P Ajax and Kilkerrin United shared the spoils from an eight goal thriller at Tarmon. Mike Kerrane scored two and Daniel Connolly and Paul Mee added one each for the Castleplunket side with Damien Mc Mahon scored two and Jason Ward and Aidan Kitt scored one each for Kilkerrin United.

In the Division 2 Cup Quarter-Finals Moore United beat a very unlucky Moylough side 2 – 1 after extra time at Moore. Johnny Hession gave Moore a 1- 0 lead with sixty played and Paul Donnellan levelled the game with seven minutes left to play in normal time. Adam Mc Manus scored the winner from the penalty spot in the first period of extra time.

The first round game between Ballinagare and Roscommon United was not completed as a result of a leg injury to the Ballinagare player James Dowd. We wish him a speedy recovery.

The Roscommon and District Football League wish to extend their sympathy to the family of the late Jacqueline Lynch from Ballinasloe. Jacqueline past away at very young age last week. To her husband Sam sons Liam, Rory, Sam junior and extended family we extend our deepest sympathy. May she rest in peace.
