Roscommon Ladies Football

The Roscommon Ladies Football focus returns to club action this weekend with action from adult down to Under 12 level.

Ahead of that, on Saturday, there’s action in the Connacht Championships. At Connolly Park, Collooney the Under 14s take on Sligo at 12pm and that’s followed by the meeting of the Minor Teams at 1:30pm.

Under 16 Championship

Last weekend saw the final round of fixtures take place in the MCL Agri Supplies & Spar Shop Lanesboro sponsored U16 competitions, with the exception of division four which has another round to run. The results were as follows:

Division 1
Clann na nGael 7-24 Boyle 0-04,
St Dominics W/O St Mary’s Conc,
Padraig Pearses 0-02 St Brigid’s 3-05.

Division 2:
Castlerea W/O Four Roads Conc,
Kilbride Conc, Shannon Gaels W/O.
Elphin/Kilmore 6-09 Roscommon Gaels 1-8.
Division 3:
Eire Og 5-07 Strokestown 0-09,
Western Gaels 4-05 St Barry’s 3-19,
St Croans 4-02 St faithleahs 4-16.
Division 4:
Oran 7-14 St Michaels 1-10,
Michael Glavey’s 3-02 St Ciarans 5-14.

The line up for the Semi-Finals in Divisions 1, 2 and 3 is complete and the games will take place on Sunday at 4pm. The semi-finals line up as follows and venues will be confirmed on roscommonlgfa.ie/:
Division 1:
Clann na nGael V Boyle,
St Dominics V St Brigid’s.

Division 2:
Kilbride V Elphin/Kilmore
Castlerea V Shannon Gaels.

Division 3:

As stated earlier there is still one more set of fixtures to take place in division 4. These will also take place next Sunday and are as follows, with first named team at home:

Feile 2017

This year’s Feile competition began last Monday night as the three quarter-finals took place with the results as follows:
Clann na nGael 8-05 St Dominic’s 3-02,
St Brigids 6-07 St Ciarans 3-03,
Padraig Pearses beat Roscommon Gaels four points.

This leaves the semi-final pairings as follows:
Clann na nGael V Padraig Pearses, and St Brigids V Castlerea. These games will be played on Easter Monday (17th April) where the Final will follow immediately afterwards at the same venue.

U12 season begins:

Last weekend saw the beginning of the U12 season with the non-competitive leagues starting. This weekend sees the second set of fixtures take place. Again first named team at home with a 6pm throw-in:

Northern league:
Boyle V Elphin/Kilmore,
Kilglass Gaels V Ballinameen,
Shannon Gaels V St Michaels,

Southern League:
St Ciarans V Padraig Pearses
Clann na nGael V St Brigids,
Four Roads V St Dominics.

The Roscommon Ladies Football Board would like to remind all involved that this is a non-competitive League and therefore should be respected for in that manner by players, mentors, supporters and Parents and the only focus should be on enjoyment for the kids.

Easter Camps:

Once again a reminder that Roscommon Ladies Football Board are delighted to announce that in conjunction with the Roscommon GAA Board will be running an Easter camp for both boys and girls at various venues across the county, on the 12th, 13th 14th they will be hosted in Castlerea, St Michaels and Dr Hyde Park Roscommon. On the 18th, 19th and 20th they will be held in Michael Glaveys (Ballinlough), St Brigids (Kiltoom), Clann na nGael (Johnstown), Boyle and Kilglass Gaels GAA grounds. These camps are for both boys and girls aged 6 to 14. In attendance will several inter county stars from both the men’s teams and the ladies teams will be in attendance.
Clubs are asked to forward names of coaches who maybe interested in helping out with the camps by forwarding an email to the County Secretary.
