Roscommon Gaels

Roscommon Gaels GAA to host special event for Leaving Cert Students

Roscommon Gaels
Football

We start our U14 League at home in Lisnamult vs Clann na nGael next Sunday morning April 2nd.

U12 Football We trained Sunday morning with good numbers. We train outdoors on Thursday in Lisnamult at 7pm for our 1st outdoor session of the season. The League is supposed to start next week. Players will be notified later in the week.

Ladies Football

Our U16 footballers played Shannon Gaels in the Championship on Sunday. After a very indifferent first half the girls trailed 1-8 to 3 points at half time. However, in the second half the girls played a lot better with some excellent defending and good link up play in the middle of the field with our forwards finding the target we were soon level. Unfortunately after many missed chances Shannon Gaels broke down the field and scored a goal against the run of play. Try as they might we could not find the levelling score the final whistle blew on a score line of 2-7 to 2-10.
Team: A Giblin 0-2, L Crean, N Madden, H Corcorcan, E Wright Looby, E Horan, C Towey, A McNeill, M Fllon, I Cullen 1-0, R Tarmey 0-1, E Killion 1-1, Z Hunt 0-3, E Biesty, M E Connolly, L McNamara, N Raftery. We play Elphin/Kilmore next weekend away. Training on this Wednesday.

U-12 Hurling

Training will continue on Monday evenings in Lisnamult. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Camogie

The U12 Camogie team travelled to Pearse Stadium in Galway on Saturday May 25th to play in the Camán to Croker competition. Camogie U12 teams from Galway Mayo and Roscommon gathered for the day and it was a great opportunity for the girls to see other counties U12 in action. In what was a cracking day the girls played three teams Shamrocks South Mullagh/Kiltormer and Carnmore North. They showed true grit in their battles against strong Galway teams. The sun shone and we all had a fantastic time in Galway. A great display of camogie by the girls on their first trip out this year and we look forward to a great season ahead. Thanks to Teresa and Tricia for travelling with the teams this weekend. Thanks to all the girls and also to Michaella Bracken who travelled to assist with refereeing on the day.
