Western Gaels Membership
As our games begin again for the coming year it is extremely important that all players are fully registered before they play for any team this year. Membership fees were set at the AGM back in Dec 2016 and cost the following:
Family = €100
Adult single = €50
Senior Players (over 18) Ladies & Men = €100
Please ensure you have your membership paid before playing any games so as you are covered under the GAA player injury insurance scheme.

Annual Lotto Renewals:
Our Annual Lotto sales drive is upon us again as all tickets are due for renewal at the end of March so your local Lotto rep will be calling over the coming weeks to seek your continued support of our club Lotto. As always there are lots of payment options from Cash/Cheque/Direct Debit through our online paypal function on our website. There will also be a draw in the 1st week in April for all renewed members for 5 Cash prizes of €100 so you have a chance of getting your money back straight away.
ABC Programme:
Western Gaels recently launched their ABC/Physical Literacy 6 week programme for boys and girls from ages 4-7 years old. There were 40 kids at the launch night on Monday 20th March and this continues on a weekly basis every Monday evening. Thanks to all the parents and coached who helped out on the opening night and we hope that the numbers remain high over the duration of the course.
Underage Coaching Mornings:
The underage coaching mornings for boys and girls for U6/U8/U10’s continues this Saturday at 10.30am in Frenchpark. All kids are welcome to attend for what is a great morning’s action and it starts at 10.30am and finishes at 11.45am.
Ladies Football:
U 16 Team:
The U 16 team were defeated in a hard fought game by St.Faithleachs on Sunday evening last in frenchpark. Final scoreline: St.Faithleachs 3-11 Western Gaels 4-04. The team play St.Barrys next weekend so please check fixtures for confirmed times/venues etc.
Men’s Football:
Minor Team:
The Michael Cooney & sons sponsored team have a busy week ahead. On tuesday evening they face Kilglass/St.Barrys in Frenchpark and then on sunday they travel to Boyle to face the home team at 11am.
U-16 Team:
The Michael Cooney & sons sponsored team face St.Ciarans on thursday evening next at 6.45pm in frenchaprk in the next round of the league.
