South Roscommon Singers Circle kicks off a busy month of activity with their regular “1st Saturday Session” on April 1st in Murray’s, Knockcroghery, with Special Guest Padraic King.
Padraic is an amazing singer from Tuam and has been to the South Roscommon Singers Circle “1st Saturday session many times in the past, but as special guest, this time round we will have an opportunity to delve deeper into his rick repertoire of traditional ballads. The singing starts around 9:30pm.
On Thursday April 13th (Holy Thursday) South Roscommon Singers Circle will host a special Roscommon Fleadh session at PJ’s in Castlecoote. On this occasion they will have some of PJ’s regular session musicians to add a little extra spice to proceedings. It is always a great house for a session.
On Friday 28th April, in association with Roscommon Lamb Festival, The Circle will host A Lamb Jam session with our friends from Virginia, U.S.A., King Street Bluegrass, in Murray’s, Knockcroghery. More on that later.
In the meantime, South Roscommon Singers Circle is getting ready for more interesting times ahead, with an exciting song, music & visual arts project in the pipeline.
More details on that will be announced at the April 1st Session in Murray’s so go along, grab a seat, sing a song, tell a story or just listen …. you’ll be more than welcome.
