Senator Frank Feighan has welcomed a funding allocation of €1.35m by Housing Minister Simon Coveney to Roscommon County Council to purchase 9 houses in Roscommon Town.
Announcing the news Frank Feighan said “Minister Coveney has given the council the funding go-ahead to acquire four two bedroom houses and five four bedroom houses at Greenfields on the Lansesboro Road.
“This funding approval is clear evidence that the Government is helping local authorities to address the social housing shortage.
“Part of the Government’s housing strategy is to bring vacant and under-utilised housing stock back into use for housing purposes – and I look forward to these houses at Greenfields being made available by the council to those in need as soon as possible” he concluded.
