Roscommon LEADER is currently inviting Expressions of Interest for two funding programmes and there is a total budget of €400,000 available to groups and individuals.
Youth Organisations, community/voluntary organisations and Young Entrepreneurs & Graduates are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for funding under the Rural Youth Sub Theme. This sub-theme has a budget of €250,000. 50% funding is available to private promoters while 75% available for community promoters, with the minimum funding of €5,000 available.
Projects under the following categories are encouraged to apply:
– Youth Clubs/Cafés
– Youth-only sports/recreational facilities
– Youth Arts and Culture facilities
– Youth ICT
The other funding programme is in the Enterprise Development sector.
This sub-theme has a budget of €150,000 and the aims are to provide support for traditional business sectors with growth potential (including creative/craft, traditional manufacturing, traded services and social enterprises).
Private individuals, entrepreneurs and community/voluntary organisations are 50% funding, up to a maximum of €150,000, is available. In particular, projects under the following categories are encouraged to apply for funding:
– Creative Industries including crafts, film, media, design and arts-based activities and enterprises
– Traditional Manufacturing and Trading Services with new, innovative proposals
– Social Enterprises and Community Enterprises targeting gaps in services to communities

All EOIs received will be assessed for Eligibility in Principle (i.e. eligibility under the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 Operating Rules and compatibility with the Co. Roscommon Local Development Strategy). Applicants whose EOIs are deemed Eligible in Principle will be invited to submit a full application for funding. Application packs, including guidance notes, will be issued and assistance with the application process will be provided.
Project applications will be evaluated based on the submission of a fully completed application form and all necessary supporting documentation. Applications will be assessed by an independent committee using the score sheet included with the form referred to above. A minimum score of 65% is required for approval. The final decision on grant aid will be made by the Local Action Group, Roscommon LCDC.
The Closing date for receipt of Expressions of Interests, along with relevant supporting documentation, is 4pm on Wednesday, 15th March. Late submissions will not be accepted. The responsibility lies with the applicant to ensure that their EOI is received by RLP before the closing time and date.
