Roscommon companies battle for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur titles

Two local businesses are battling it out with regional winners across the country for one of three Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur titles in Dublin on Sunday.

Desmond Dolan won the Best Business Idea Category in the Roscommon-Mayo-Galway region for MistCalls at an event in January. MistCalls is an app which aims to manage calls for business users. Desmond was previously named Roscommon’s Best Young Entrepreneur of the year at the County Finals in December. Desmond discusses his idea here:

Boyle’s Kyle McLoughlin, of Posude, was named as the regional winner in the Best Start-Up Category for his website SubTeacher.ie. The website connects Post-Primary Schools seeking to fill substitute Teaching positions with available Teachers. Kyle discusses his business here:

Both companies took part in the interview stage of the National Finals in Dublin yesterday. The winners of the three categories (the other category is Best Established Business) will be announced at the Google Headquarters in Dublin on Sunday. In addition to the title the winners will receive a share of an €100,000 Investment Fund.
