A second and final registration night will be held on Friday 3rd March from 8-9pm in the clubhouse. We remind everyone that membership is now due and anyone wishing to train and play matches or be involved in coaching teams needs to be a member of the club.

Our Hodson Bay Hotel sponsored senior team lost their first game in the league to St. Croan’s on Saturday evening last in Kiltoom. St. Croan’s were the stronger team throughout. Brigid’s went in one point down at half time but could not stop Croan’s dominating the second half.

All-Ireland and All Nations Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships 2017

We are delighted that the All Ireland and All Nations Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships 2017, will be held in St. Brigid’s on the June Bank Holiday weekend.This competition will be hosted in conjunction with the Irish Sheep Shearers Association on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

This event promises to be a memorable weekend and to make this happen a massive effort from the community will be needed. The event will be of huge benefit to local businesses and will be a boost for the development of the local area.

St Brigids are putting in place a programme of events for this weekend including Food expo’s, fashion shows, vintage rallies, sheep dog trials, sheep racing, country music and amusements and children’s entertainment. We would appreciate as many people as possible to get involved in this local community event. We are open to all suggestions that will benefit the overall event. Gaelic4teens

St Brigid’s ladies are delighted to announce that we have been selected, as one of the ten clubs in the country to participate in the new Gaelic4teens program. Gaelic4Teens is a participation based initiative introduced by the LGFA, it is run over 8 weeks, and aimed at increasing the retention rate of teenage girls aged 15-17 years in clubs. This will involve educating coaches on needs and interests of teenage girls, and develop athletic and social skills of the girls in a safe nurturing environment.

Ladies Training

Pre-season training has started for almost all age groups for our ladies. We are always delighted to see new faces, so if you would like to come back playing or give ladies Gaelic a try for the first time please contact Sharon 087-8242377.

St Brigids GAA Lotto

Our club lotto has being running very successfully for over twenty year. The lotto is a means to raise vital funds for our club for our on-going running expenses. We are asking if you can take some lotto books and try and sell tickets to family, friends and work colleagues. If you think you could sell tickets please contact Tommy on (086)4493871.
