Congratulations to Boyle Celtic who defeated Terenure side VEC United 2-0 to book a place in the FAI Junior Cup Quarter-Finals for the first time.

Boyle Celtic opened the scoring in the 7th minute through Niall Brennan and held the lead throughout. They had a number of chances to double the advantage but couldn’t convert, the highlight being a shot from John Connolly which struck the crossbar from 35 yards out.

Entering injury time a VEC United counter-attack led to Boyle keeper Kyle Suffin pulling off a great save and tipping the ball over the bar. In the fourth minute of additional time Shane Battles was brought down in the square. Substitute Luka Roddy held his nerve and put the game beyond doubt.

The other FAI Junior Cup Results were as follows:

Evergreen 2-0 Willow Park
Ballynanty Rovers 1-2 Killarney Celtic
Navan Cosmos 0-1 Janesboro

Peake Villa 3-2 Crumlin United (AET)
