There were mixed fortunes for Roscommon footballer who played in the Higher Education GAA Sigerson Cup yesterday. We look back on how they fared.

Ronan Daly (0-1), Hubert Darcy (Both Padraig Pearses), Brian Kelly (Roscommon Gaels) and Ballinameen’s Gerard McDermottroe (0-1) played for DCU-St Patricks in their 3-24 to 0-10 defeat to UCC.

Strokestown’s Thomas Corcoran scored 0-1 for DIT in their win 1-13 to 0-11 win over an AIT side that included Mark Daly (St Brigids) and Stephen Flynn (Clann na nGael).

St Brigid’s Niall McInerney was a late sub for UCD in their 5-16 to 2-6 win over an IT Sligo side which featured Fuerty’s Philip Neilan.

Kilmore’s John Donoghue played for NUI Galway in their 1-7 to 1-9 defeat to St Mary’s University College, Belfast.

Shane O’Malley (Michael Glaveys), Graham Petit (Clann na nGael), Tom Featherstone (Oran), Caoileann Fitzmaurice (0-2) (Michael Glaveys) and Gearoid Ennis (Fuerty) played for the Garda in their 2-15 0-13 loss to Ulster University Jordanstown.

IT Carlow who include Jack Casey and Raymond Farrell (Both Oran) defeated IT Tralee, who feature Raymond Kennedy (St Aidans), by 1-8 to 0-9.

In the Sigerson Cup Quarter-Finals this day week, the University of Limerick host DIT, IT Carlow host UCD, Ulster University Jordanstown host UCD and DCU Dóchas Éireann host St Mary’s University College.
