The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) are hosting a unique fundraising event in aid of the Simon Communities of Ireland at the Roscommon County Council HQ, Áras an Chontae, tomorrow.
John Parker MRIAI, a Director of ABK Architects – the designers of the award-winning Roscommon County Council HQ, will be give 20 people a one-hour guided architectural tour of the facility. The project won the “2016 RIAI Irish Architecture Award for Best Public Building” and also picked up “Best Public Sector Fit Out” and “Best Sustainable Fit Out” at 2016 Fit Out Awards. It has also been nominated for the “EU Mies van Der Rohe Award 2017 for Architecture”.
“The People’s Building”, as it is commonly referred to, consists of 6,600m2 of office accommodation, laboratories, canteen and the Council Chamber.
The one hour tour will start at 11am and will include Q&A at the end. The tour is aimed at the general public and all welcome. The cost is €5 (plus booking fee) and all money raised will go to Simon Communities of Ireland. Places are limited to 20 people. and you can book your place by clicking here.
