The All-Ireland Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships and the All-Nations equivalents will take place on the June Bank Holiday at the grounds and lands of St Brigids GAA Club, Kiltoom.
The All-Ireland Sheep Shearing and Wool Handling Championships are set to provide a big a tourism boost to the area, with over 200 competitors taking part and large numbers of spectators expected. The programme of events is now being planned and so far it has been confirmed that €8,500 in prize money will be up for grabs and that 2,500 Sheep will be on show.
The organisers say that they are looking forward to working with local people, businesses and suppliers to make this event a success. An information evening will take place on Tuesday 24th January at 9pm in St. Brigid’s GAA Club (Note change of date and venue). The structure and further details of the weekend’s events will be outlined on the night.
