Fine Gael Senator Maura Hopkins has said it is extremely positive that Scoil Mhuire, Brusna, Ballaghaderreen is to receive funding for emergency mechanical works.
The funding will be used to carry out improvements to the heating system in the school under the Emergency Work Programme.
Speaking earlier Maura Hopkins said, “I have been in constant contact with Minister for Education Richard Bruton TD on the need for funding to progress necessary works on the heating system in the school. I have been working closely with staff and management in order to advocate strongly for this funding as it is essential that a safe and warm environment is provided so that pupils can learn best”.
Senator Hopkins concluded, “our schools are at the heart of our local communities, I am delighted to see them receive this vital funding to allow them to conduct their teaching in a safe and modern environment.”
