2017 Roscommon GAA Season just days away

The 2017 Roscommon GAA Season gets under way on Monday January 2nd and sees the Senior and Under 21 Football Teams in action.

The Roscommon Senior Football team serve up their second “Christmas Cracker” at 2pm that day when they take on Kildare. Admission to the game is €10 and proceeds will be split between the Team Training Fund and the Shalom Centre for Conflict Resolution in Kenya – the chosen charity of team manager Kevin McStay.

At the same time in Gowna, Co. Cavan, the Under 21 Footballers take on Cavan in the opening game of the Hastings Cup. On Saturday, at 2pm, they host Westmeath at a venue TBC and on Friday January 13th they are away to Longford in McGann Park, Kenagh.

The Roscommon Senior Footballers begin their competitive on Sunday January 8th at 2pm. In Round 1 of the FBD League Roscommon will host IT Sligo in Abbey Park, Boyle. A week later they will host NUI Galway in Ballyforan at 2pm and on Sunday January 22nd they host Mayo in Kiltoom.

With new Management and new players involved with both teams it promises to be an interesting month.
