There are lots of Charity Fundraising events taking place throughout Roscommon today and the following is a selection.

Walks and Runs

A fundraising walk in aid of Western Alzheimer Association gets underway at 12pm in Roscommon town, starting from Hannon’s Hotel on the Athlone Road. There are two distances to choose from – 5k and 10k and registration is open from 11.15am.

Croghan Tidy Towns host their annual 5k walk and 10k run at 12pm. Registration opens at 11am in Croghan Community Centre and refreshments will be served after .
Admission is €10 for Adults, €5 for Children and family €20 with all proceeds going towards Croghan Tidy Towns.

A 5 Mile Walk / Jog / Run in aid of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind takes place in Knockcroghery at 2pm. Donation €10, Children Free. Refreshments after in the Knockcroghery Community Centre.

Annual 5k/10k walk/run in Ballintubber at 1:30pm. Entry is €10 and proceeds will be shared between Ballymoe Community Playschool and the local St Patrick’s Day Parade fund.

There are two fundraising events in Lough Key Forest & Activity Park over the coming days.
A Treasure Hunt in aid of Hospice will take place at 2.30pm today. The 3rd Annual 5k Fun Run/Walk in aid of RPM Ireland and children with Autism will be held tomorrow.

Gaelic Games

Boyle GAA host a fundraising match between an over 30 and an under 30 selection at 12pm. Admission is optional and proceeds will be divided between the repair of the Club Gym and the Brothers of Charity.

Clann na nGael host their annual Fundraiser matches is in aid of defibrillators for the community. The Men’s match will throw in at 2pm followed by Ladies/G4M&O’s match. Music will follow afterwards in the clubhouse by Shaney Mc from 4pm-8pm.

Elphin GAA host their annual Michael O’Callaghan Cup game with proceeds being split between to be there for 1pm. Admission is optional and proceeds will be shared between our Pitch Development Fund and Mayo-Roscommon Hospice.

St Faithleachs host their annual charity match on at 3pm with proceeds going towards Pieta House West. Senior Team & Mother’s/Others V Junior Ladies & Lads/Dad’s. Admission is €10 per player.

The events planned by Oran GAA have been postponed due to pitch conditions.
