Senator and Young Fine Gael member Maura Hopkins and Roscommon Galway Young Fine Gael Chairperson, Alan Harney have welcomed the Young Fine Gael National Conference which takes in Ballinasloe this coming weekend.
The major event in the Young Fine Gael calendar will take place in the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe from this Friday November 25th to Sunday November 27th.
First established in 1977 by Garret Fitzgerald, Young Fine Gael is an autonomous organisation with a 4,000 strong membership nationally. The theme of this years conference is “Advancing the Vision”.
Delegates from across the country will gather in Ballinasloe to elect a new President and National Executive. Along with the President, members will elect a Vice-President, four members of a national panel and four regional organisers
The Taoiseach, Tánaiste and other senior Government figures will be in attendance throughout the weekend.
Senator Maura Hopkins said,
“As a proud member of Young Fine Gael, I am delighted that we will be hosting the National Conference in Ballinasloe. It will be an important forum to discuss the many issues which affect young people such as creating greater job opportunities, the future of higher education, Ireland’s place within Europe and the agriculture sector. It is a great opportunity for the town and it’s surrounding areas to showcase what it has to offer to the national and international attendees.”
The Chairperson of the Roscommon Galway Young Fine Gael branch, Alan Harney said,
“Being from Ballinasloe myself, it is great to be hosting the National Conference locally. It is a great opportunity to emphasise the positive aspects of the town’s amenities and facilities in hosting such a large conference. I am confident that the event will be a great success.”
