After months of leaks and speculation the 2017 Allianz League Fixtures were released by the GAA today following ratification at the Saturday’s Central Council Meeting.

The Senior Footballers begin their Allianz League campaign on Sunday February 5th away to Tyrone in Healy Park, Omagh at 2pm. On Sunday February 12th they will host Donegal in what is likely to be the first game on the new pitch at Dr. Hyde Park. That game is scheduled for 2:30pm.

The team have a weekend off before facing Mayo in Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar on Saturday February 25th at 7pm. The following weekend Roscommon host Kerry in Dr. Hyde Park at 2pm on Sunday March 5th.

Sunday March 12th is another free date and on Sunday March 19th Roscommon make the trip to Páirc Grattan, Inniskeen to take on Monaghan at 2pm.

A break follows and on Saturday March 25th Roscommon travel to Croke Park to take on Dublin, that game has a 7pm throw-in.

Roscommon conclude the league with a home game against Cavan on Sunday April 2nd at 2pm.

The top two Teams contest the Division 1 Final while the bottom two Teams will be relegated to Division 2.

The Mark

It was also announced today that “The Mark” as introduced at Congress 2016 in Carlow, and trialled in the Higher Education League Division One, will be introduced for all games from January 1st 2017.

International Rules

And next year’s International Rules fixture in Australia will be played on a two game series with the winner decided on the aggregate score from the two games. Venues and other details are to be confirmed.

The Roscommon Senior Hurlers begin their Allianz League campaign at home to Wicklow in Waldron Park, Athleague on Sunday February 12th at 12:30pm.

The following weekend they make the long trip to take on Down at McKenna Park, Ballycran on Sunday 19th at 2pm.

A rest week follows on February 26th and on Sunday March 5th Roscommon host Meath in Waldron Park, Athleague at 12:30pm. The 12:30pm throw-ins will facilitate supporters wishing to attend the Allianz Football League games in Dr Hyde Park later on those days.

On Sunday March 12th Roscommon face the long journey to the Derry GAA Centre, Owenbeg. That game has a throw-in of 2pm.

After another rest weekend Roscommon conclude their campaign on Sunday March 26th at home to Mayo in Waldron Park, Athleague at 3pm.

The Top Two Teams will contest the Division 2B Final with the winners of Final promoted to Division 2A.
The Bottom Two Teams will contest a Relegation Play-Off and the loser will be Relegated to Division 3A

Christy Ring Cup

The Draw for the Christy Ring Cup has also take place. Roscommon have been drawn away to Down in Round 1 on Saturday April 22nd. Win or lose Round 2 is scheduled for the following Saturday.

Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling All-Ireland U21 ‘B’ Championship / Richie McElligot Cup

Roscommon have been drawn away to Wicklow in the Quarter-Final of the competition on Saturday August 12th.
