Independent County Councillor Domnick Connolly has welcomed the review of speed limits in Roscommon which is being undertaken by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
Commenting on the matter Domnick Connolly said “The proposals are very comprehensive and while it is welcome, it will take a while to assess every proposal on the maps. However I am glad that there was a review as we all know roads where the speed limits are far too high and other stretches of road where the limits are too low. I especially welcome proposals to lower the speed limits in housing estates to 30kph. Road safety must always be uppermost in our minds when we are addressing this issue. Anything that will make our roads safer must be welcomed.
