Minor Hurling

The U8/U10 County hurling blitz takes place Saturday 24th of September next, training will continue Wednesday evening at the pitch and details of challenge matches to be sent out by text.

The u14 lads took on Four Roads in the league Semi-Final at Athleague on Sunday afternoon last. Final score St Dominics 0-05 to 2.12, hard luck boys.

Our U16 hurlers played Roscommon Gaels in the second round of the Championship last Wednesday evening. Dominic’s opted to play with a strong wind in the first half. They started the brightest and were quick to build up a lead with some great team scores. Dominic’s scored a great goal when Logan went on a solo run and stuck the ball in the net. However the Gaels hit a purple patch of their own and scored 1-04 without reply. Just before the break Micheal Beirne pounced for a goal to put a bit of daylight between the teams at the break. St. Dominic’s put in a very spirited display in the second half against the wind and scored two crucial goals to seal the victory. This was a hard fought and well deserved win.
Final scoreline: St Dominics 3-11 Roscommon Gaels 1-05. Team: J.Tiernan, J.Fagan, F.Hoare, K.Morris, C.Fagan, D.Martin, J.McDonnell, C.McCormack, G.Martin, Micheal Watson, J.Lohan, E.Campbell, M.Beirne, D.Keenan, L.Egan, R.O’Keeffe, Mark Watson. (Manager Darragh Connolly)
