St Brigids GAA News update September 13th

St Brigids GAA
Championship Fever

Our “Hamrock’s of Brideswell” sponsored senior ladies are competing in the senior county final against Kilbride on Saturday next 17th September at 5pm in Knockcroghery. This will be the first time that we are competing for the honour of literally bringing home the O’Malley Cup. St Brigids donated the cup to the Ladies County Board in 2015, and is named after the famous Gerry O’Malley and of course his niece Chrissie is a current and long standing ladies player with St.Brigid’s. It would be an amazing honour and extremely proud day for the club if we could win the county title and be presented with the O’Malley Cup.
With this in mind we are asking everyone to please come along and support our extraordinary ladies team who are playing their 11th senior county final since 2005. Also please get your flags, bunting and banners out, make sure there is plenty of green and red on display.

Art Competitions

To celebrate this match we are asking all children in the parish to draw a picture, or write a poem / story (on the A3 paper provided) about our senior ladies or why you love St Brigids so much!
All posters will be collected at your school no later than this Thursday 15th.
Alternatively, posters can be put into a designated box in Dressing Room 5 at the club. Don’t forget to put your name and telephone number on the back.

Also, on the day of the match we are having a Crazy Hat Competition so use your imagination, be creative and don’t forget to use our beloved club colours red and green when designing your hat!
There will be a prize for the best poster and the best hat!
