Local Fianna Fail Deputy Eugene Murphy TD has welcomed comments by the Minister for Health Simon Harris in relation to contracts for newly qualified Nurses.
Eugene Murphy said “We have lost so many highly qualified and skilled nurses over the years as they opt for employment options overseas. Perhaps some of that brain drain can now be stemmed if newly qualified nurses are offered a contract of full time work with the HSE. These contracts “which will allow them to remain in Ireland and ultimately contribute to the economy and help improve the healthcare service,” he concluded.
Eugene Murphy also welcomed the announcement of funding for the design and planning of the new Rehab Unit at Roscommon Hospital, adding that the comments by Minister Harris “were over long due but most welcome”.
