Roscommon GAA is to seek nominations for the position of Senior Football Team Manager.
The move comes following the departure of Fergal O’Donnell, Selector Stephen Bohan and Coach David Casey last night. The following, brief statement was released by Roscommon GAA a short time ago after the conclusion of tonight’s Executive Committee Meeting: “Following on from the resignation of Fergal O’Donnell from the position of joint manager of the Roscommon Senior Football team last night the Roscommon GAA County Management Committee has agreed to open the position of County Team Manager to an open competition.”
As the existing “Joint-Management Ticket” came to an end following Fergal O’Donnell’s departure the County Board Management Committee had to open up the position. This is in order for Club Delegates to ratify an incoming Team Management structure. The deadline for nominations has been confirmed as Wednesday September 21st. It is anticipated that the incoming Management Team would be in place by the end of the month in order for them to take in the concluding stages of the Club Football Championships.
The Intermediate & Junior A Semi-Finals are scheduled for the weekend of September 25th. The Senior Semi-Finals are down for October 2nd. The Intermediate & Junior A Finals will be played as a double-header on October 9th and the Senior Final is scheduled for October 23rd.
Incidentally, Roscommon GAA had hoped to fill the positions of Under 21 and Minor Football Team Managers by the end of the month.
