Athleague Camogie news update September 7th

Athleague Camogie
Senior championship: Athleague 4-7 St Dominics 1-6

The Second round of the Senior Championship took place on Saturday evening last when the Club travelled to Knockcroghery to take on the home side, St. Dominic’s and came away with a hard earned victory.

Their final game in the round robin section of the Championship takes place on Saturday, 24th September at 5p.m. in Athleague when they take on Oran who have proved to be very difficult opponents over the years. Training for the team continues during the week.

Under 12 League

The Under 12 League finals were postponed on Saturday last due to the inclement weather. The final s will be re-fixed during the week by the fixtures committee.

Under 14 Development Squad

The Under 14 County Development Squad travel to Dublin at the week end to take part in the Annual U.14 Blitz prior to the All-Ireland Camogie Finals on Sunday next. The team which consists of a number of players from the Club will be brought to Croke Park on Sunday to parade during half time of the Senior Camogie Final. We wish them all the best of luck together with our Club and County Development Officer , Sharon Kavanagh who is helping out at the week end.

Minor Championship

The first round of the Dermot Hughes sponsored Minor Championship commences this Friday evening when the Club travel to Knockcroghery on Friay evening to take on the home team. Players will be notified during the week of the starting time of the game.

The Club would like to wish the best of luck to all the Club players who have progressed onto 2nd level education in the past week to the various 2nd level institutions locally. Hopefully they will continue to play camogie in their new schools.
