St Dominics GAA 50-50 Draw

The Club congratulates Tommy Cunningham, Gailey. Seller: Post Office, who won €1,005 in the Club’s weekly draw on Saturday 27th August. 50/50 draw next week, Saturday 3rd September will be held in Ned’s, Knockcroghery. You can sign up for the next 52 weeks (Cost €100) or 26 weeks (Cost €50) at any time, please contact 087 3552383 for details and online Club website at www.naomhdominic.ie Envelopes, for entry into each individual draw on each Saturday, are also available in the Shops/Post Office and Bars in the locality, as well as from John Corcoran’s Menswear and Roscommon Leisure Zone in Roscommon – only €2 per draw. Intermediate Football: Fuerty 2-17 St Dominics 1-8.

With Kilmore drawing with Tulsk, this means the team will miss out on a quarter final place this year.

Camogie

Our Hodson Bay sponsored Senior team continue training at the usual times, please keep an eye on text messages.

U16: Our U16 team are training under the guidance of Noel and Caoilfhionn on Monday evenings between 7pm and 8pm.

U8 and U10 Training will continue on Wednesday evenings at 6pm on the main pitch. All players new and old are more than welcome.

Ladies Football

Training continues next Saturday for our U-6, U-8 and U-10 girls. Please remember your mouthguards and a drink.

Our U-14 girls played Round 1 of their Championship on Tuesday evening last where they met St Barrys at home. It was an eagerly contested game with St Dominics narrowly losing out on a scoreline of 3-05 (14) to 4-03 (15). In Round 2 St Dominics met Roscommon Gaels on Sunday 28th of August. This was a fantastic game to watch with the girls showing great skills and teamwork throughout. Unfortunately final result did not go our way, it ended 2-05 (11) to 1-05 (8). Thanks to all the girls on such a good turn out with nineteen players on the day.
Due to a water logged pitch the minor ladies were unable to play their semi-final match. This game has yet to be ‘re-fixed. Training will continue for our minor and junior ladies Tuesday and Friday evening.

Roscommon ladies Gaelic Football Association, annual fundraising Combined Draw starts in early September. It is vital to Ladies Football at St. Dominics and Co. Roscommon that we support this draw please contact any committee member to buy a ticket, shares in tickets are also available thank you.

Minor Hurling

U-8/U-10 hurling continues Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm at the pitch.

The County U-8/U-10 hurling blitz will be taking place in early September details to be sent out by text as usual.

The U-12 hurlers have a bye in their Championship, they continue to train this week. They will play Round 6 next Wednesday, 31st of August at home to Four Roads.

The U-14s will train this week and have a challenge match at home on Monday evening at 7.30pm.

The U-16 hurlers were due to play Padraig Pearses in Round 1 of their Championship, that game was postponed and will be re-fixed, meanwhile they play at home to Athleague/Tremane in Round 2 on Wednesday 31st August at 7.30pm, all support welcome.
