There was action at Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 level last week in the Mid-Western Girls Soccer League.
In the M2 Sport Under 10 League, CP Ajax & Kilkerrin United played out a high scoring game in Castleplunkett. Aimee Caslin, Grace McDermot, Tuala Southall & Nathasha Shaughnessy were best for CP while Jessica Forde & Hannah Morrissey performed well for Kilkerrin.
In the Westward Scania Under 12 League, Strokestown United defeated Castlerea Celtic Tigers 2-1 in the top of the table clash at Strokestown. Tiegan Gibbons & Chloe Rogers were on target for the home side in a very entertaining encounter. Kilkerrin United had a 2-1 win over Castlerea Celtic Lions thanks to goals from Kate Thornton & Áine Shaughnessy. CP Ajax & Ballaghaderreen FC played out a thrilling 4-4 draw. Rigina Kelly, Aisling Hanley (2) & Rebecca Keane were CP Ajax scorers while Lynda Hanley (2), Ava O’Grady & Katie O’Grady were the Ballaghaderreen scorers.
In the Geraghty Travel Under 14 League. CP Ajax had a comprehensive 7-1 win over Kilkerrin United. Edel Beirne (3), Aisling Kelly (2), Kirsten Cronin & Aisling Hanley were all on target for CP while Caitlin Boyle scored for a Kilkerrin side who never stopped battling.
