National Heritage Week takes place from August 20th to 28th and there is lots of things to do in Roscommon during this time including Kiltoom and Ballintleva.
On Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st from 12pm – 4pm
On the L7553 local road, nearly opposite Kiltoom cemetery, Bridie Leonard Feeney welcomes visitors to explore ‘Teach Luinín’ her traditional thatched cottage which was carefully re-thatched a few years ago to ensure that it remains a testament to Irish Design Heritage.
Sunday 28th at 3.30pm
At Ballintleva Old School, Culleenirwin there’s a heritage walk from Ballintleva around the block, taking in some of our local heritage sites. Ballintleve Handball Alley is one of only four sites selected nationwide for the Heritage Councils Adopt a Monument Scheme. Come along and find out more about it!
