Our Hodson Bay Hotel sponsored senior team lost out to neighbours Clann on Sunday last in the fourth game of the championship group stages. Despite going in level at half time we only managed to score 2 points in the second half and we were unlucky to miss a shot on open goal and kicked a penalty straight at the keeper.

Junior A Championship: St Brigids 2-11, St. Dominic’s 2-7
Our junior side recorded a victory over neighbours St Dominics on Sunday last in Johnstown. It was a much improved performance from the previous week although we started slow but once our lads settled they managed to gain the lead and maintain it throughout the game. Two excellent goals from Gavin Byrne as well as some well taken points by Alan Daly and Conor Gleeson stood to us and help us to victory.

U-10’s enjoy Blitz
The U-10s had an outing at the St. Dominic’s grounds in knockcroghery for blitz on Saturday 6th August 2016 (with teams from St. Dominic’s, Clann Na nGael, Roscommon Gaels) where St. brigids fielded two teams, despite the weather being windy but dry.

Scor na nOg 2016
Entries are being taken for boys and girls under 17 on 1st January 2017 that would have an interest in representing St Brigids in the Figure Dancing competitions this year. Closing date for entries is to Diane ASAP. Meeting for children and parents will be held the Thursday or Friday afterwards. Entries for the other disciplines will be taken later in August. St Brigids GAA Lotto
At the moment we are getting a great run on the lotto jackpot. With the jackpot so high it is a great opportunity to raise vital funds for our club. It is also very easy to sell the lotto when the jackpot is so high. With this in mind we are asking people if they can take some lotto books and try and sell tickets to family, friends and work colleagues. St. Brigid’s lotto can be played in all local shops and pubs, as well as online stbrigids.gaa.ie. Tickets are only €2 each and this week’s jackpot is €16,200.
