Western Gaels B 1-10 Strokestown B 0-11

The Devine and Co sponsored Junior team had a very hard earned win against Strokestown in Round 3 of the Junior championship on friday evening last in Frenchpark;
In what was a tight and even contest throughout with very little separating the sides a late goal by Stephen Ryan earned the 2pts in the end. Strokestown led by 6pts to 5 at halftime but some good freetaking by Conor Sampey brought us level at 10pts each with 5 minutes left and then the goal came with 2 minutes remaining on the clock. Strokestown pushed hard in injury time to find a goal but we managed to hold on at the end.
Team: A Hardiman, O Madden, A Freyne, J Brady, C Dowd, T McCann, J Greevy, Noel Higgins, S Carroll(1-0), M Duffy, S Ryan(1-02), R Finn, C Sampey(0-6,4f), J Higgins, D Kennedy(0-1).
