St Brigids GAA Lotto

At the moment we are getting a great run on the lotto jackpot. With the jackpot so high it is a great opportunity to raise vital funds for our club. It is also very easy to sell the lotto when the jackpot is so high. With this in mind we are asking people if they can take some lotto books and try and sell tickets to family, friends and work colleagues. If you think you could sell tickets please contact Barry on 086-8504676.
St Brigid’s lotto can be played in all local shops and pubs, as well as online stbrigids.gaa.ie. Tickets are only €2 each and this week’s jackpot is €16,000.

Match Reports
St Brigids 0-12, Roscommon Gaels 1-6

Our Hodson Bay Hotel sponsored senior team recorded their second victory in their third game of the championship on Sunday last in Ballyforan. While it took our lads a while to settle, going 1-2 to a point down in the early stages they managed to compose themselves and come back to level it up for half time, with 7 points to 1-4. It was fifteen minutes into the second half before we had a score courtesy of Cathal McHugh. Brigid’s kept the lead and only allowed Gaels to score two points in this half.

St Brigids 0-6 Creggs 1-11

Our Junior side were defeated by a very strong Creggs side in the Junior A Championship on Sunday in Ballyforan. Unfortunately our lads never really got going in this game, finding it hard to settle with an early goal from Creggs. We went in at half time 1-5 to 2 points down. The second half was much the same and Creggs had more fire power than us which helped them keep their lead throughout.

St. Brigid’s 8-8, Strokestown 10-7

Our Pieta House sponsored minor ladies were unlucky to be defeated by Strokestown in the Championship last Thursday in Kiltoom. Despite the final score this was actually a very tight game until the dying minutes with Strokestown securing a late goal and two points to seal their 5 point victory. Brigid’s had a lead of 2 points going in at half time and two early second half goals from Lauren Curran gave us a comfortable lead. However the second half was a goal fest for both sides and Strokestown came out eventual winners.
The minor ladies face Roscommon Gaels on Monday 15th in Lisnamult at 7pm in the next game of the championship.
