Clann na nGael 5-13 Boyle 2-10

This was by far our Junior’s strongest team and best performance this Division 4 League match at Johnstown last Friday evening. The injection of some of the county minor players and a confident display by the regular squad proved too much for Boyle. Cieran Lennon and Sean Fallon dominated the middle of the field and supplied the perfect ball to our fast running forwards who created chance after chance. Ian Naughton and Eoin O’ Neill caused all sorts of problems for the Boyle defence. Niall Connaughton and Darragh Kildea took on the opposition at every opportunity and produced fine overall displays. Micky Shine came off the bench in the later half of the game to see the home side win out. This results leaves Clann mid-section in this competition. Well done to Ray Fallon and his Team for a fine result.
Ladies Updates

Our minor ladies play away to St Ciarans in their first game of the season on Thursday 4th August at 7pm. Good luck to all involved.

Minor Ladies All-Ireland Final

Roscommon were unfortunate to be beaten by Meath in the LGFA Minor B All Ireland final. Clann were well represented by Shauna Connell who was captain, Sinead Farrell, Caoimhe Lennon & Amy Quinn. Well done to the girls who done so well in their campaign.
Roscommon 3-1 Meath 4-9.

Under 8 Blitz

On Saturday last, Clann’s U8 boys made the short trip to Kiltoom to take part in the Roscommon GAA U8 Go Games Blitz, hosted by our neighbours St. Brigid’s. The Clann lads played teams from St. Dominic’s and Roscommon Gaels as well as St. Brigid’s. Clann fielded two teams on the day, as some players were away on holidays for the long weekend.

All the matches were played at a very high level of skill, and were very entertaining. All the matches were played in a determined and sporting manner, with the boys from all clubs really enjoying the blitz and the refreshments provided afterwards.

The boys and their management would like to extend thanks to St. Brigid’s for organising and running such a successful blitz.
