Clann na nGael
Clann na nGael 1-6 St Brigids 1-8

Clann continued their Minior Division 1 Championship with a 2 point defeat to a strong St Brigids side in Johnstown on Wednesday night. Clann started slow and found themselves 2 points down after 4 minutes, before Paul McManus found the net to open the scoring for the home side. The sides traded points all the way to the half time whistle with Clann’s scores coming from Paul McMaunus with a free, Sea Henry with one from play and Ciaran Lennon with 2 from play, to leave Clann leading 1-04 to 0-05 at the break.

Brigids knocked over a point in the 1st minute of the 2nd half to leave just one between the teams, but Ciaran Lennon restored Clann advantage to 2 with great point from play. Clann seem to take the foot off the pedal after that and allowed Brigids in for 1-02 without reply in the next 25 minutes. Wides were Clanns problem as pushed hard to get level. Clann managed one late point to leave the final score 1-06 to 1-08 to the Kiltoom lads.
St Brigids look to be the team to stop this year as the already beat Padraig Pearses in Round 1.

Under 14 Updates

Clann U14 Div 1 team earned a hard fought draw away to Boyle on Thursday evening, Clann were a point up at half time but the second half turned very scrappy as heavy & persistent rain made playing conditions very difficult.
Clann started slowly & found themselves behind 1-2 to no score after 10 min but then Clann seemed to kick into gear with the defence tightening up & the forwards getting good supply of ball they hit 3-2 without reply but Boyle finished the half strong & there was only a point in it at half time.

Scores were hard to come in the second half due to the conditions & with 5min to play Clann found themselves 4 down but great credit must go this team & when the subs came in came it really boosted the Clann performance & they scored 1-1 to tie up the game.

This results means that Clann have qualified for the County Final by topping the group & management will very difficult job on their hands in selecting a team as every one of the 19 players were outstanding.
