Our round-up of the weekend’s action from the Roscommon Sports scene including Golf, Gaelic Games, Soccer, Camoige, Cycling and more.

Golf

Carrick Golf Club won the inaugural All-Ireland 4Ball Inter-Club Connacht Title by defeating Ballinasloe in the Final, 7-3 over two legs.

Camogie

There was double disappointment for the Roscommon Under 16 and Junior Camogie Teams who both suffered defeat yesterday. Details here.

Cycling

In contrast with the Camogie teams there was double joy for Daire Feeley as he won the first ever Shannonside Cycling Club GP in Athlone on Saturday and the Brian McNamara Memorial Race in Tuam on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Cian Dolan from Kilteevan finished third in the Under 16 Time Trial at the Connacht Youth Championships.

Gaelic Games

It wasn’t a great weekend for followers of Gaelic Games. Roscommon bowed out of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (Match Report here). The Roscommon Ladies suffered the same fate losing to Wicklow 3-9 to 4-13. The Roscommon Under 16 lads were defeated by Mayo North-South in the Ted Webb (Connacht Under 16 Football) Cup Semi-Final.

On the Club scene Tremane and Padraig Pearses will meet again in the Kepak Senior Hurling Championship after drawing 3-13 to 1-19 after extra time. Check out all the Club results from the week done by here

Soccer

St Francis FC won the Roscommon and District League Umbro Master Final, defeating St Comans FC 1-0. The teams will be in action in the Masters Cup Semi-Finals on Wednesday.
