St Dominics GAA 50-50 Draw

The Club congratulates David Kelly, Culleen, who won €1,049 in the Club’s weekly draw on Saturday 16th July. 50/50 draw next week, Saturday 23rd July will be in Ned’s, Knockcroghery. St Dominics GAA Golf Classic

Our annual Golf Classic will be held in Roscommon Golf Club on Saturday 30th July. Entry for a Team of 4 is €120. All committees within the Club are requested to encourage to invite members and supporters of the Club to take part. This has proved a fantastic day out in the part. Prizes for the winners but prizes will also be awarded for the best team comprising teams from the various clubs, be it, Football, Hurling, Camogie, Scor etc, the worst score, longest drive, all women teams and others. Our Camp for members will be held this year from the 8th – 12th August.

Senior Football

O’Gara Cup League. St. Dominics 2-9 Eire Og 4-16. St. Dominics lost out to a very fit and hungry Eire Og on Saturday evening last in Loughglinn. St. Dominics who were short a few regulars but performed well in the first half, led by 2-8 to 1-8 at half time. Eire Og were in complete control in the second half and ran out easy winners in the end. Camogie

Our Hodson Bay sponsored Senior team continue training at the usual times, please keep an eye on text messages.

U16: Our U16 team have started training under the guidance of Noel and Caoilfhionn on Monday evenings between 7pm and 8pm. All players new and old are more than welcome.

U8 and U10 Training will continue on Wednesday evenings at 6pm on the main pitch.

Ladies Football

St. Dominic’s U-6/U-8 and U-10 combined ladies training continues Saturday morning from 10am to 11am at the pitch, weather permitting. Please remember your mouth guards and drink.

On Tuesday evening last our U-8 and U-10 ladies played St. Brigid’s at Kiltoom in a friendly. Under the guidance of Rory Currid we had a panel of 21 girls who took the deplorable conditions in their stride and enjoyed a very competitive evening of football with no doubt these girls are our future stars.

Congratulations to the Roscommon minor ladies featuring St. Dominic’s- Rachael Corcoran, Julie Healy and Eimear McNally, they have qualified for the All Ireland Minor B Final by defeating Waterford by 3-07 to 1-11. They will play Meath in the Minor All-Ireland on the Saturday 30th of July next. Good luck to all.

St. Dominic’s minor ladies get their Championship underway on Thursday 21st of July at 7pm. They are away to St. Ciarans, all support welcome .

Our Roscommon Leisure Zone sponsored ladies play Round 2 of their Championship on Monday 18th of July versus Roscommon Gaels at home, good luck to all.

Next week’s 50-50 draw will be held in Ned’s, Ladies Football are helping out for July.

Minor Hurling

St. Dominic’s U-8 and U-10 hurlers travelled to Four Roads to take part in the latest round of blitzes. The boys enjoyed a very competitive day with lots of skills on show, training continues Wednesday evening for these age groups.

The U-12 boys played Athleague/ Tremane on 13th of July last with a much improved side competing. Their next round is a home game on Wednesday 20th of July where they play Padraig Pearses, please come along and show your support for this great bunch of lads.

Roscommon’s U-16 hurlers travelled to Liam Mellows GAA grounds to take part in the annual Niall McInerney tournament and narrowly lost top honours on the day, well done to St. Dominic’s E. Campbell, F. Hoare, M. Beirne, K. Morris and D. Martin.

Minor Football

Our Minors played Tulsk on Saturday, 9th July, at home, final scoreline St. Dominics 1-14, Tulsk 6-8.

U12s are scheduled to play Oran at home July at 12:00.

U6 football continues every Saturday for July from 10am to 11am at the pitch. Please inform any parents who may have children for this age group.
