The stableford competition for The PGA Tankard and a place at The PGA Tournament in Royal Tara in September played on Sun 10th July was won by Martin Carrington with 41 points (Pictured Above).
Since this competition is all about the winner the minor places don’t matter, but for the record Liam Bruen 40 points second, (Bruen was presented with the Tankard in error and had to return it) and third place Eamonn McGirl 39pts.
Narrow defeat for Carrick Golf Club
This weeks Inter Club action was back to Provincial with the Jack O’Sullivan team versus Co Sligo and like the Junior Cup we were on the wrong side of the odd game in five losing 3-2. Two games at home Sean Bohan & Gordon Kavanagh lost on the 21st and Shane Kelly & David McDermott won 5/4.
In Rosses Point Liam Bruen & Niall Roche lost 2/1 Nathan Flynn & Keith Duignan lost 4/3 and Noel McDermott & Eamonn McGirl won on 19th
