Eugene Murphy TD has called for urgent action in relation to a dangerous visibility issue at Scramogue Cross following another accident at the location last week.
Fianna Fail TD for Roscommon/ Galway and local area Cllr Joe Murphy have highlighted the ongoing problems at Scramogue Cross as they say it is a “death trap” which needs urgent attention. Deputy Murphy is seeking an urgent meeting with the National Roads Authority and Roscommon County Council on the matter next week.
“Numerous motorists and constituents in the Scramogue area have contacted me in relation to the ongoing issues at Scramogue on the main N5- this is a national primary route where there is a staggered type crossroads in operation. There seems to be a problem with signposting in the area which is causing problems in terms of visibility and only last week there was yet another accident at that location. Indeed many people are scared to death driving through Scramogue Cross as it is a real death trap and urgent action is needed to address the situation,” said Eugene Murphy.
