St Dominics 50-50 Draw

The Club congratulates Paul O’Connor, Greenhills, Knockcroghery, who won €1,196 in the Club’s weekly draw on Saturday 25th June. 50/50 draw next week, Saturday 2nd July will be in Kellys, Lecarrow. A camp for members will be held this year from the 8th – 12th August.

Senior Football

Division 4 Football League: St Dominics 2-8 Oran 1-14.
St Dominics lost out by 3 points in this Division 4 game played in Oran on Sunday morning, 26th June. Dominics started brightly and led by 4 points after ten minutes with a goal and a point by Tommy Hurley. The game was then held up following a serious injury to Kenny O’Beirne. Oran came more into the game scoring 1-4 without reply. Further points from Tom Gilleran, David McDonnell and a brace from Paul Dolan had St Dominics leading 1-5 to 1-4 at the break. An early second half goal from Tom Gilleran and points from Sean Kenny and Derek Doyle gave Dominics a three point advantage by the 50th minute but the final ten minutes belonged to Oran. They notched up seven points to which St Dominics could only score a late Tom Gilleran point.

We play Eire Og in the O’Gara Cup on Sunday next 3rd July in Knockcroghery. Good luck to Michael McGloin, Kyran Dockery and the Roscommon Minor team who play Galway on Wednesday evening in Kiltoom at 7:30pm.

Senior Hurling

St Dominics senior hurlers played Roscommon Gaels in the first round of the senior hurling Championship on Sunday, 26th June in Athleague. Final score Roscommon Gaels 1-11 (14) St Dominics 0-12 (12).

Camogie

Our Hodson Bay sponsored Senior team continue training at the usual times, please keep an eye on text messages.

U16: Our U16 team have started training under the guidance of Noel and Caoilfhionn on Monday evenings between 7pm and 8pm. All players new and old are more than welcome.

U8 and U10 Training will continue on Wednesday evenings at 6pm on the main pitch.

Ladies Football

St Dominic’s U6/U8 and U10 combined ladies training continues Saturday morning from 10am to 11am at the pitch. Please remember your mouthguards and drink.

Training continues for our U12 and U14 age groups as usual details will be sent out by text.

Our ‘Roscommon Leisure Zone’ sponsored Junior team are due to play Kilmore in Round 1 of the Championship on Tuesday the 5th of July at 8pm, training continues this week details will be sent out by text.

Minor Hurling

U8/U10 boys training continues at St. Dominic’s Wednesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, all are welcome. St Dominics hosted the latest round of Go Games on Saturday last with St Dominics, Roscommon Gaels, Padraig Pearses and St Marys taking part. Thank you to all the players parents and mentors who made it a very enjoyable day, well done all.

Training continues for the U12 boys in preparation for their upcoming Championship. Training texts to be sent out as usual.

The U16 Long Puck Finals took place at Roscommon Racecourse and well done to all who took part. St. Dominic’s Dwayne Martin came second on the day.

Our U16 hurlers got their league campaign underway on Saturday evening against Athleague/Tremane. The boys battled very hard and played some lovely hurling. They showed great spirit and got some nice scores in the second half but they could not close the gap from the first half. Full time score was 2-14 to 1-5. Training for U16s continues Tuesday at 8pm. The U16 league continues with Round 2 taking place on 17th of July, next. We play at home to St.Marys (Carrick Hurling Club) all support welcome.

Minor Football

U14 Championship Division 2. Thursday, 23rd June Strokestown 2-10 St. Dominics 1-9. U14 are now scheduled to play Oran away on Thursday 30th June at 7:30pm.

U16 Championship Division 1 fixture scheduled for Saturday 2nd July St. Brigids versus St. Dominics at 7:30pm in Kiltoom.
