Meteor & eir Mobile Launch #lovedata Campaign


The Irish continue to be one of the prolific social media users in the world and their appetite for data remains at an all-time high. Topping the favourites list is Facebook; Twitter is a close second and Instagram continues to be increasingly popular, particularly with younger users. Against this backdrop, eir Mobile and Meteor are introducing UNLIMITED* access to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which the majority of existing and all new customers can enjoy.

Maeve O’Malley, Director eir Mobile & Meteor, explains, “We know people love data so we’re giving them more, for free, which will be applied across the three most popular social sites; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Simply put, customers will receive UNLIMITED* usage of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram without eating in to any of their data allowance.

This fantastic offer is available to all new customers as well as existing Meteor bill pay and prepay and eir Mobile bill pay customers, who have 4G plans starting at €20 euro a month. From this month , these customers will be able to enjoy UNLIMITED* data on the three social media sites, plus, an additional 15GB of data for €20, as long as they top up every 30 days. That’s not just all you can eat data, that’s more than you can eat data.”


The offer works for phone, tablet, laptop and tethering browsing and works for browser access, Apps access as well as across Android, iPhone, iPad Apps and Windrows. However, it does not work while the customer is roaming. The offer is applicable to Meteor prepay and bill pay customers as well as eir Mobile postpay customers.

As an example, a new customer who chooses a Meteor 4G prepay €20 offer will now not be charged for accessing Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from 16th June, plus they’ll have UNLIMITED* calls and a further 15GB Data Offer. An existing prepay customer will automatically receive the offer when they top up next.

The Meteor campaign, entitled #lovedata, will be supported by TV, radio, outdoor and digital activity as well as customer SMS communications. The theme of the campaign will focus on giving customers not just all you can eat data, but more than you can eat.
