Disappointment for Kilbride youngsters

It was a big week for our U14 and U12 boy’s teams with both involved in league finals against Strokestown. Unfortunately it didn’t go to plan as Strokestown game our on top in both encounters.

First up were the U14’s in Ballyleague on Thursday. Strokestown were very strong on the day and deservedly won by 7-10 to 3-06.

On Saturday our U12’s travelled to Rockfield in confident mood knowing that they’ll be playing in Division 1 in the championship. The team however will rue missed chances in the first half and eventually lost out to a a team that were clinical in front of goal.

Our junior team recorded an encouraging win against Fuerty on Friday night in Kilbride. A team made up of a blend of experience and youth prevailed on a scoreline of . Kilbride Ladies Round-up

Well done to our U 12 team who had a great win away to St.Michaels last Tuesday evening . The girls were losing by 2 points at half time but a much improved second half performance and an exhibition of point scoring saw them run out eventual winners on a scoreline of 1-20 to 4-02. Their next game takes place in Kilbride next Sunday at 6 p.m..
Team: Aisling Shanagher, Rachel Hoare, Karina Leonard, Rebecca Gavigan, Rachel Tully, Aisling Hanly,Ashling Cronin, Ellen Tully, Hazel Carty , Clodagh Murray and Rachel Glynn.

Well done also to the U 14 team who beat Western Gaels comprehensively on Wednesday evening in Kilbride. They finished third in the league table so this concludes their league campaign . Championship begins on 21st August so there will be a break from training for a few weeks

Ten of our senior ladies travelled to Connacht GAA Centre on Saturday morning to take part in the Connacht sevens. The girls one won game and lost two but enjoyed the day and the football nonetheless.
Team: Patricia Shally, Amanda Gavigan, Sinead Clabby, Siobhan Tully, Lorraine Connor, Ciara Taylor , Alice Kelly, Yvonne Creighton and Rochelle Mullaney. A challenge match has been organised for tonight (Wednesday) against Carrickedmond from Longford and a bonding day takes place next Saturday .

Hard luck to Ellen O Beirne, Aoife Leonard and the Roscommon Under 14 team who lost their All Ireland semi on Sunday in Birr.
