Mens Football

Division 4 Football:
St Dominics 2-10 St. Ronans 3-7. St Dominics shared the points with St. Ronans in this game played in Knockcroghery on Sunday last, 29th May. A last minute goal for St. Ronans snatched victory from St. Dominics. A Derek Doyle point and a goal and point from Tommy Hurley had St. Dominics in control after 20 minutes but then St. Ronans got through the St. Dominics defence to score a goal in the 21st minute and repeated the dose in the 26th minute to land their second goal. Tommy Hurley, Tomas Gilleran and Kenny O’ Beirne added points for St Dominics to leave it 2-3 to 1-5 to St. Ronans at the break. The second half was end to end stuff but St Dominics missed many scoring chances. Frees from T. Gilleran, Kenny O’Beirne (3) and a Ryan O’Beirne point from play had it level after sixty minutes (1-10 to 2-7) but a good St. Dominics move was finished to the net by David Gately and looked to have secured victory. St. Ronans launched an injury time free into the square and despite a good Keith Mullarney save the rebound was finished to the net to force a draw.
