Kilbride 1-6 Fuerty 1-13

Our intermediate men’s team suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Fuerty in the opening round of the championship on Wednesday in Knockcroghery. Henry Walsh netted in the 16th minute but that was as good as it got for the kilbride men.

Better news however for our Junior team who recorded an excellent win over neighbours St Faithleach’s in the Junior B championship as a few veterans returned to the fold to help the cause. Our U14 boys semi-final against St Faithleach’s was postponed and will now be played in Kilbride on Friday at 6.15pm.

Our U12 boys recorded a excellent win against St Domonic’s in the Division 2 League semi-final on Saturday. All their scores were from play. Kilbride 5-11 to 2-01. They will now play Strokestown in the final. Our other U12 team but in a brave performance against a strong Clann na nGael team and it wasn’t their day losing 4-13 to 3-07.

Our U10 team had an enjoyable challenge match against St Faithleach’s recently in Ballyleague. Last weekend they travelled to Ballyforan to tease part in a blitz organised by St Aidan’s. A great day was had by all. The first match of the Oran tournament took place last week when they took on St Brendan’s from Ballygar. Kilbride played some excellent football and came away with the win. Thank to Oran for the invitation. Kilbride GAA Lotto

The lotto draw was held in the Red Parrot on Saturday night. There was no winner of the €2,250 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 7, 8, 9, 30. The five €20 winners drawn were Mike and Sandra Bracken, Derrane Road; Paul Nelis, Corry, Kilrooskey; Michael Mc Greevy, Fourmilehouse; Vera Clancy, Racecourse Road; Maura Hopkins, Ballaghaderren. The next draw will be held in Foxes Bar on Saturday 11th June when the jackpot will be €2,400.

Ladies Round-up

Our Senior ladies were given a walkover from Eire Og in their league game due to be played on Sunday morning .They have one game remaining in the league against Strokestown and this game id due to be played next Friday evening in Strokestown at 8 p.m. . Good luck to all involved .

Well done to the U 14’s who had a great win in Kilbride last Thursday evening beating St. Dominics on a scoreline of 10-11 to 5-02. Their next game is away to Shannon Gaels this evening, Wednesday, in Croghan at 7 p.m.

The U 12 girls played Shannon Gaels last Tuesday evening in Kilbride . The girls played brilliantly and came back from being 8 points down at one stage to force a draw. Their next game is away to St Michaels and details of this fixture will be sent by text.

There is a great turnout every Monday evening for our U 6 , U 8 and U 10 sessions and the girls are having great fun whilst also learning the basic skills . Don’t forget gumshields and a drink !
