Both teams played some neat football and overall there was little between them. Playing with the wind in the first half Skyvalley Rovers came closest to scoring in the early stages with Mark Richardson Jack Moore and Andrew Phelan coming nearest. As the game approached half time a quick break by Jamie Reynolds Sean Moran and Darryl Conneely resulted in Adrian Cregg winning a penalty kick which he duly converted. While playing against the wind in the second half Skyvalley played really well for long spells but found it difficult to get past David McNamara Gerry Gallagher Michael Goulding and David Freyne. The Lough Harps Rory Mannion made four excellent saves to deny Damien Caulfield Lee Clogher Jack Moore and Brian Lennon. Finally Lough Harps scored the vital second goal near the end. A deep cross by Sean Moran reached Robert Cregg and the team captain gave Patrick Maleady no chance of saving with a good header.
