It was a very fruitful week-end on the playing field for both Kilglass Gaels ladies and lads adult teams.
Our adult lads got their 2016 championship campaign off to a winning start with a hard fought win over St. Brigids in Kiltoom on Saturday evening. Kilglass were the better team in the opening half and led 1-03 to 0-02 at the break goal coming from a Gavin Tully penalty. The second hald was a much tighter affair with St. Brigids throwing everything at Kilglass in the later stages of the half, but Kilglass lads held their nerve and secured the first points of the championship. Full-time score Kilglass Gaels 1-8 St. Brigids 0-7.

Our adult ladies had a good win over Ballinameen in the division 2 league in a goal feast played in Kilglass on Sunday morning. Despite being rocked by two early goals in the opening two minutes of the game the home side dominated the first half and headed to the break with 5 points to spare 4-05 to 3-03. The second half followed the same vein as the first with as both sets of forwards were on song particularly the home side that kicked 3-11 while and the visitors kicked 4-06.
