Denis Buckley goes under the knife

Connacht Rugby
Roscommon’s Denis Buckley has been ruled out for the remainder of Connacht’s season after he underwent surgery this week on his ankle injury.

It is expected that he will return to full training at the start of the pre-season in late June.

There was some positive news for Connacht Head Coach Pat Lam as Rodney Ah You and Finlay Bealham have completed the graduated return-to-play protocols for their head injuries. Both props joined full training this week and are available for selection. Craig Ronaldson is available for selection having recovered from the ankle injury sustained earlier in the season and Ronan Loughney has recovered from the shoulder injury sustained in the last game.

Meanwhile Danie Poolman has resumed training this week with the main squad following his foot injury but remains unavailable for selection and Tighthead prop Nathan White has resumed fitness training.

The Connacht Rugby team to face Glasgow Warriors in the Guiness PRO 12 Semi-Final will be announced at noon on Friday. Saturday’s sold out game at the Sportsground, kicks off at 6:30pm and will be shown live on TG4, Sky Sports and BBC Scotland.
