Roscommon Harriers Race Series just days away

There’s just days to go until the Roscommon Harriers “Running Rossies” Race Series kicks off.

This unique five race event is spread over nine weeks with distances gradually increasing.

All of the races are AAI approved and will be timed and chipped. It starts with a 5km Race next Friday, May 13th, followed by an 8km Race on May 27th. A 10km Race takes place on June 10th and is followed on June 24th by a 13km run. All of these races will begin at 7pm and will set off from Hannon’s Hotel, apart from the 8km Race which will start from the Girl Guide Centre in Mote Park.

The series will culminate with a 10 Mile run on Saturday July 16th and will get under way at 11:30am.
Roscommon Harriers are offering custom made Beanies to the first 50 online registrations for the 10 Mile run so get in early to avoid disappointment. The race features Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female, a prize for the 1st Male & 1st Female over 40 and the 1st Male & 1st Female over 50.
Race number, Chip & T-shirt collection will be available from Hannon’s Hotel on Friday 15th July from 7 – 9pm and on Saturday 16th July between 9:30 and 11am.

Entry Fees

The entry fee for the 5km run is €10 and €15 for each of the 8, 10 and 13km runs, while the entry fee for the 10 Mile Run is €25
“Early Bird” special offers are in place where runners can enter the first four races in the series for the special price of €40 or the 10 Mile Run for €20 or all five races, including the 10 mile road race, for €55!

A pre-registration night will be held tomorrow Tuesday, 10th May from 8-9:30pm in Hannons Hotel, Roscommon. Individual Races can be entered on-line at FitMagazine.ie

Entry fees for the five race package increase to €65 after the deadline has passed. Runners will also be able to register for individual races on the evening of each race.

Businesses are being encouraged to take part in the 5km run with the title of Roscommon’s Fittest Business up for grabs. Teams are made up of five runners and the entry fee is €50 per team.
