Clann na nGael Under 12 Updates

Division 6 – Clann Na nGael V. Roscommon Gaels
These two well matched teams on a great evening for a game of football in Johnstown last Monday, produced a match that lived up to all expectations. Clann were leading at half time with a score of 1-5 to 0-5 with only one kick of a ball between the teams.

Clann had a great start to the second half with 2 early goals but Gaels fought back to get within 1 point and they exchanged point for point until the bitter end with Clann coming out on top winning by a narrow margin. An entertaining game played in the right spirit, is what it is all about.
Division 1 – Clann Na ngael V. Roscommon Gaels
The foundation of this victory for Clann in Johnstown last Monday came in the first half when, playing against the strong wind, the tactics deployed in the conditions worked well and they showed an intense determination to protect their goal. Clann went in at half time with an eight point lead.

Clann started the second half very well and pushed the lead on, but great credit is due to Roscommon Gaels, who kept battling and finished strongly to dominate the scoring in the last few minutes. This performance from Clann was timely as they were disappointed with their previous outing in the Spring Laeague. Their first touch, tackling, interplay and decision making was so much improved and they can be well satisfied with the display. Final score Clann na nGael 4-8 Roscommon Gaels 2-4

On Wednesday evening our two u12 teams continued the good form recording two excellent victories against St Dominics in the Walsh cup to maintain our 100% record in the competition.
Division 4 Junior B Tansey Cup League
Clann na nGael 0-6 Oran 0-16

An Understrength Clann side lost to Oran on Saturday last due mainly to the lack of numbers. However, the team did put in a great effort despite the lack of numbers and held the home side 0-5 to 0-4 (Clann) at half time.

Oran played with a strong wind in the 2nd half and knocked over long range points and ran out easy winners. This competition is ideal ground for young players to improve and develop their skills and for the older players to keep in touch and enjoy their football, with the right attitude towards this level we could do a lot better and certainly have better outcomes. Lets support Ray Junior B Manager going forward.
