Under 12 Ladies

Our U12’s are very busy at the moment with games in the league on Sundays and Wednesdays they played St. Michael’s in Coothall on Monday evening last, final score Shannon Gaels 5-3 St Michael’s 2-4.
The girls were out again on Wednesday evening where they played Kilglass with a final score of Shannon Gaels 5-1 Kilglass 7-0. They hosted Ballinameen on Sunday 24th in Croghan and a great game was had by all. This league is to develop skills and no scores are taken.

Huge thanks to Chris O’Dowd for having the pitch and grounds in such excellent condition.

County Representatives

Huge congratulations to our County Under 14 Ladies in a comprehensive victory over a competitive Sligo team in the Connaught Semi-Final on Friday last in The Sligo Centre of Excellence. An evening blessed with sunshine and excellent football with Shannon Gaels being well represented having four of our own on the Roscommon County Panel. A massive thanks to Seonna Devaney, Orla Mullaney, Caitlin Surlis and Zoe O’Callaghan for their hard work and commitment. Seonna, Orla and Zoe represented the club on the day with a big loss for the Roscommon team from Caitlin Surlis who was out due to injury – we wish her a speedy recovery. Best of Luck to the Roscommon Team and the girls against Leitrim in the Connaught Final in two weeks’ time. Score: Sligo 2–4 to Roscommon 9-11

The Roscommon adult ladies were out on Sunday against Sligo and defeated them 1-15 to 2-06. Well done to management and the team including our own Tess Murtagh and Christina Beirne. They play Leitrim next Saturday with a venue yet to be confirmed.

The County minor team play Leitrim in the Connaught B final on May Bank Holiday Monday with a venue yet to be confirmed. Again we have three girls on that panel, Caoimhe O’Dowd, Christina Beirne and Elaine McDermott. Best of luck to all involved.

Poker Classic

Our annual fundraiser of Poker Classic will be held in Glancy’s Bar on Wednesday May 25th, Refreshments served following a raffle on the night.

There was no winner of the jackpot. The winning numbers of 6,8,27 and 28. Other winners were Mary Simons – Knockvicar, John Hand – Elphin, Gerry Cummins – Croghan Road, Seamus Beirne – Eastersnow and Declan O’Carrolll – Cortober. Next draw takes place on Saturday 30th in the Four Provinces with a jackpot of €2,300.
