ICSA Sheep Chairman John Brooks says that the Roscommon Lamb Festival 2016, which runs over the May Bank Holiday weekend, from April 27th to May 2nd this year, will have widespread appeal and offers something for everyone, urban and rural.
“The festival is a unique celebration of sheep farming, food and local heritage,” said Mr Brooks. “The attractions this year includes international sheepdog trials, a number of heritage and farm walks, a local enterprise craft marquee, a farmers’ market and a variety of children’s activities – in other words, something for all the family.”
“Irish lamb is known worldwide for its quality and taste, particularly at this time of year when lamb is at its prime. A festival like this unique event brings it right back to the heart of the local community. It’s also a great opportunity to strengthen the link between farmers, consumers and tourism,” he concluded.
