Cloonfad United 0-1 Shiven Rovers

We bowed out of the Roscommon Cup away to Division 1 Champions Shiven Rovers last Saturday night. For most of the game we dominated possession and had the better of the scoring chances. The big turning point in this contest came at 32 minutes when Shane Fagan rounded the Shiven keeper and his goal bound shot was blocked by an outstretched arm of a Shiven defender. Bizarrely the referee did not show a red card to the Shiven player but did award the spot kick. To rub further salt into Cloonfad’s wounds Ger Fagan was unfortunate to miss the spot kick. As the second half wore on Shiven began to dominate and it was no surprise when they scored the winner in the 84th minute.

Cloonfad United 1-2 MD Town

The B Team were away to MD Town on Sunday and were unlucky to come out the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline. Ryan Merchant scored Cloonfad’s goal.

Youth round-up

Well done to the U-16 side who are through to the Shield Semi-Final following a penalty shoot out victory over Dunmore Town. The game finished 2-2 after normal time with Keevan Murphy scoring both our goals.

The U-12s did brilliant to come back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Dunmore. Darren Keadin with 2 and Jamie Regan were on target.
